Our District

Newark Logo

We have 7 groups across the district, 2 district explorer units and a network unit. We currently have over 500 youth members within the district and around 200 adult volunteers supporting our members.

We believe that we could significantly increase our membership with more volunteers who could spare us the time. Volunteering is #goodforyou as not only does it give you that warm fuzzy feeling, but it gets you out and about, is good for your mental wellbeing and lets you help mould young peoples lives.

About our Group

1st Balderton are the largest group in the district, with 2 Beaver  Sections, 2 Cub Sections and a Scout Section. Vikings ESU also uses the group facilities on a Tuesday evening.

The group has a huge outdoor area, meaning they spend most of their summer evenings out on the field, doing everything from ball games, pioneering, archery, camping and toasting marshmallows over an open fire.

Their current Group Scout Leader is Adrian Rice, who is backed up by a dedicated group of leaders, helpers and supporters.
