Our District

Newark Logo

We have 7 groups across the district, 2 district explorer units and a network unit. We currently have over 500 youth members within the district and around 200 adult volunteers supporting our members.

We believe that we could significantly increase our membership with more volunteers who could spare us the time. Volunteering is #goodforyou as not only does it give you that warm fuzzy feeling, but it gets you out and about, is good for your mental wellbeing and lets you help mould young peoples lives.

About our Unit

Raptors ESU were formed in 2017 and has grown to over 50 current members. Our age range is between 14 and 18 years old, with a heavy focus on self development.

Our explorers plan, organise and deliver their own program, ensuring they have a balanced program to include, Fitness, Community, Faith, Scouting Skills, Creativity and International. Most of our explorers are also part of the Young Leader program, assisting at groups across the district.

All our explorers have the opportunity to take the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold awards as well as the Platinum, Diamond and Kings Scout Award.

Over the last year our explorers have attended both national and international events, competing in both the London and Manchester Monopoly Run's, the Gladstonebury Festival in North Wales and 23 attended the Danish Jamboree this summer, followed by a city visit to Copenhagen
