Updated: Jun 2, 2023

Following on from the new look St. Georges day format in 2022, we looked to consolidate and build upon the success of the previous year.

It was great to return to the traditional route this year, starting at the Mount School and parading along Middlegate, before entering the marketplace. We were joined this year by the County Commissioner Steven Tupper.

We would like to say a huge 'thank you' to the church who provided us with PA equipment this year, so we could be heard, to the games cafe who kindly let us use their power, the Mount School for allowing the use of their grounds and the caretaker for coming in on the Sunday morning to open up for us. Finally thank you to all the volunteers who marshalled the routes for us and watched over the kit on Riverside Park.

Following the speeches everyone re-assembled on Riverside Park for an afternoon of activities which were co-ordinated this year by Steve Adshead (GSL Coddington). Not even the rain could dampen the spirits of everyone on the park.
